College of Golf & Sport Management (COGSM) student volunteers and staff continue to work with St. Lucie County Day Care Special Olympics golfers on Friday mornings at the PGA Center for Golf Learning and Performance. Last Friday’s activities included two sessions of putting and skills development training on the art of chipping. To round out the activities, COGSM staff added a game of catch with sponge balls to enhance the athletes’ coordination and sense of feel. Training will continue throughout the year on alternate Fridays, and next week’s activities will introduce the full swing in addition to putting, chipping, and pitching.
