Winter “D” semester Dean’s List Students (GPA 3.75 to 4.0) and Honor Roll Students (GPA 3.5 to 3.74) were celebrated at the Daytona Beach campus. Dean’s List students and Honor Roll students received certificates. In addition to certificates, Dean’s List students were pinned with the newly implemented “Star of Excellence” to be worn on ID badges.
For the first time in Daytona Beach campus history, the newly-created “Outstanding Citizen” award was earned by two exemplary students, Mr. Joel Ruiz Quinones (BSIS student) and Ms. Johnna Nixon (OTA student). The Student Appreciation Committee, whose members created this award, requested recommendations from faculty members based on the following criteria: students’ dedication to community service, mentoring fellow students, and overcoming life challenges while maintaining professionalism.
My instructors believed in me. They were more than instructors, they tried to get to know you as a person and tried to understand your goals so they could push you towards them. Student services helped me find a job before I even graduated. Everyone was dedicated to my overall success.
