The Daytona Beach campus partnered with the law firm, Rue & Ziffra, to demonstrate to students the importance of “Don’t Text and Drive”. The day started with students watching a video, that featured the Daytona Beach Police Chief, Volusia County Sheriff, and shared a personal story of a local family’s tragic experience of texting while driving. Following the video, students signed the ‘pledge’ to not text and drive and then had their turn in the simulator. While in the simulator car, students had to text while “driving” and trying to avoid obstacles such as parked cars, construction, and pedestrians.
