MEDICAL ASSISTING
From a Students’ Perspective
Anatomy and Physiology

I have truly enjoyed all of the classes I have studied via the on-line services. I do not think I would have or could have achieved this goal of mine without on-line. Working full time and having a family to care for would greatly limit my availability for on campus classes. I will be graduating this October with my associate degree in Health Care Administration. Anatomy and Physiology is an absolute must for me to be knowledgeable in. The tutorials and exercises provided in the class using the computer are an excellent way to help one learn an otherwise difficult topic. The texts are good, however actually "participating" in what is being taught really helps the mind to understand and absorb the concepts being taught. I would love to continue and get my degree in Business Administration.

Clinical Procedures
Patient care and preparation for examinations, procedures, and treatments and the principles of aseptic technique and infection control in the medical office

I regard the online program very highly. It has helped me to achieve a goal that otherwise I may not have been able to achieve. I am able to still work and be home with family, as well as go to school. I was able to obtain a job at Cape Canaveral Hospital as a receptionist and get my foot in the door. When I tell my employers that I am about to graduate from Keiser as a Medical Assistant they get excited. Many have already made plans to use me in their offices from time to time.
Heaven Sent-Keiser University’s online program has been a Godsend. I am a single mother of three living on my own. It is imperative that I be able to work and support my children, yet I still wanted to have some quality time. Online classes have allowed me to do just this.
With Keiser’s online program I can work while my children are in school, come home and spend time with them, and do my studies in my spare time. Since the eCampus is available 24/7, I don’t have to worry about a set schedule and having to be at campus at a certain time. My schedule changes daily so if one day I can go to class at 6pm and the next 10pm it is no problem. The virtual classroom is perfect for the individual, like myself, who doesn’t have time during campus hours to go to school. However, you must be able to dedicate yourself to your studies and your goal to succeed. It does require discipline.
I was a little uneasy at first because I wasn’t sure how well I would do with studying on my own, but I was determined to do well and forced myself to study even when I didn’t feel up to it. The classes were great and the professors were encouraging and supportive. However, two professors stick out in my mind most.
Psychology, Radiography, and the Clinical and Lab Procedures were by far my favorites. This is due in large part to the professors. Professors Angelique Williams and Ellen Bloom-Chiofolo were wonderful. They kept the correspondence flowing and they took an active part in our success. On several occasions it was not unlikely to get an email or call of encouragement from either one. I truly believe those two are angels and deserve to be showcased themselves. By the way, if you decide to hold an online professor of the year contest, it would be a tie between the two of them. Their impression will last forever.
