Technology Management for eCommerce

Planning and managing the growth of a website and support for an application to do business over the Internet

The Technology Management for eCommerce class was very interesting. Even though I work in the field of eCommerce, I was able to explore new concepts about eCommerce in general. Also, my instructor Dr. Anne Nelson was very motivational and quick with communication; which made me feel good. I knew there was someone just a click away in case I needed help. Finally, I feel that the knowledge I gained in this class will certainly help me become a better professional in my field.

Internetworking Concepts

What every eCommerce professional needs to know about Networking

Briana Memrick

As a former community college student, I have found Keiser University to be a true blessing. I began my college career right out of high school, but due to a promotion at work, time constraints made me choose between my education and my paycheck. At the time, I felt that the opportunities presented by my employer were something I could not afford to pass up. I ended up taking off a year from college, more than I had hoped to, and when I finally made the decision to go back, I could not find a way to fit in traditional courses with my schedule. My husband began attending Keiser University shortly after we were married, and due to the incredible atmosphere and caring staff, I knew I had to find my way back.
Keiser's online courses have proven to be more informative and challenging than any prior class I have taken. My class in Internetworking Concepts has by far proven to be the most challenging. The subject is by its very nature quite dry, but Prof. Smith was able to transform some technical knowledge into its practical uses, and by the end of the class I had a much better grasp on how information systems come to play in our business environment.

I love the format of the classes, and especially the threaded discussions. Being able to discuss topics with other students, along with feedback from the instructor is a great learning tool. The threaded discussions allow for more discussion than a classroom could provide. I feel that I'm getting more out of the online classes than I ever would on-campus. I also appreciate that the Instructors are easily accessible through chatrooms or e-mail, and have never had to wait long to get an answer to a question.

Without Keiser University's great atmosphere and obvious commitment to its' students success, I doubt I would have been motivated to go back to college. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to learn on my own time, and in such a great environment. Thanks!

Media Ethics and Law

Laws and standards of professional conduct that affect the communications media

Maria Ream

Coral Springs, FL

Media Ethics & Law class, was not only a great class but very rewarding. It really taught me that in these modern times that we live in, no matter how much technology and advances we may see, ethics will be the same. There is a thin line between ethics and law too; what may be unethical may not be illegal, and unfortunately many businesses or people proceed with unethical practices in their business because they know they are still within the law. However, being honest and conducting oneself ethically should be the only way to live. Ethics was an excellent class, Dr. Kent is an incredible instructor who gave us the initiative to discuss issues that concern us all nowadays, and reinforced even more the importance of having values, and being ethical especially in our career fields. Our field of practice is what we are going to contribute to the world, and following the guidelines and ethics is the true meaning of success.
