Tips for Memorial Day Eating

What comes to mind when you think of Memorial Day and food? Burgers, steaks, sausage, hot-dogs, potato and macaroni salads, sweet desserts, etc…right? When eaten in moderation, any of these food can be ok for you, but in excess, they can possibly lead to some serious issues over time, such as obesity, type II diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.

One way you can still enjoy these foods without overindulging this weekend, is by trying a little bit of everything and making sure to incorporate more of the healthy options, like fresh vegetable and fruit plates. Also, if you consume alcoholic beverages, do so in moderation and try to drink a glass of water with each alcohol beverage to avoid dehydration.

Have a safe, healthy, and happy holiday weekend!
