Flagship students recently enjoyed the opportunity to learn more about global leadership opportunities as they attended an Entrepreneurship Society Forum in which Susan Stautberg, Chair and CEO of the WomenCorporateDirectors (WCD) education and development foundation, shared insight relating to corporate board opportunities.

Stautberg, a pioneer in growing the network of global women leaders at the Board of Directors level of major companies in the United States and internationally, motivated and inspired students as she shared the value of both advisory and directory board appointments. By creating visionary strategic alliances within the public, private, and social sectors through strategic planning, business expansion, market development, and corporate governance, Stautberg shared how effective board members can shape the future course of an organization.

The only global membership organization and community of Women Corporate Directors, the WCD has over 3,500 members serving over 10,500 corporate boards in the U.S. and in 74 chapters overseas. Under Stautberg’s leadership, the WCD has created Advisory Boards at large companies and organizations such as Bank of America, Medtronic, Swissotel, WalMart and The United Nations. It includes 74 chapters on 6 continents in cities throughout North, Central, and South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Australia, New Zealand, India and throughout Asia. Chapters in Argentina, Austria, Myanmar, Norway, Poland, Silicon Valley, St. Louis, and Thailand are in formation.
