OTA Program Family Night was an evening hosted by the Fort Myers Student Occupational Therapy Association (SOTA) for friends, family, and others to demonstrate what we are learning in the program, and what occupational therapy is all about! There were stations showing the history of occupational therapy, splinting demonstration, wheelchair challenges, sensory integration station, and many more to highlight all of the wonderful areas of daily life that occupational therapy addresses. Family and friends left with a better understanding of occupational therapy, and how practitioners can empower individuals to lead more independent lives.
My instructors believed in me. They were more than instructors, they tried to get to know you as a person and tried to understand your goals so they could push you towards them. Student services helped me find a job before I even graduated. Everyone was dedicated to my overall success.
