Amy Sanford, Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) Program Clinical Coordinator facilitated the presentation, “Optimizing Breast Imaging,” to a local hospital’s Diagnostic Medical Sonographers to enhance basic knowledge of breast ultrasound.   Breast Ultrasound is a rapidly increasing field of study with its own ARDMS credential.  As many imaging centers move toward becoming accredited by the American College of Radiology, the demand for technologists to expand their knowledge and become registered is increasing.  This presentation is designed to review image optimization, discuss pathology and terminology specific to breast imaging, and to understand how to correlate ultrasound with mammography.  One continuing education credit was given for this study group.  Four of the presentation participants were KU alums who are working as Sonographers.
