The Chamber of Commerce of Cape Coral recently awarded its first ever life-time achievement award to Mike “Q” Quaintance, former president of the Chamber for 18 years, turned college professor at Keiser University in Fort Myers.  The life-time achievement was bestowed upon “Q” for his years of service to the Chamber and the community which it serves.  He accomplishments are many and range from serving in leadership roles in government in the Lee County Metropolitan Planning Council Citizen Advisory Board and Lee County Horizon Council, to Chairman of the Charter Review Committee, Council Compensation Committee, and Economic Development Advisory Committee for the City of Cape Coral.  “Q” was instrumental is the startup of Jr. Leadership Cape Coral, Advanced Leadership Cape Coral, and the Community Trustee program.  “Q” started Cape Coral Days in Tallahassee, which evolved into Lee County Days in Tallahassee.  “Q” was a Board of Director for the Florida Association of Chamber Professionals.  “Q” has the Chairman of the Cape Coral Mayor’s Scholarship Committee.  “Q” has been on the Board of Directors for the Cape Coral Rotary Club.  The list goes on, let us say that “Q” has left his mark on the Chamber and the city of Cape Coral for years to come.  He did all this while seeking a higher education, his hard work and commitment is inspiring.  “Q” is fond of saying ‘Success’ is defined as making a positive change in someone’s life on a daily basis.  His servant leadership spirit lives on!
