The Ft. Lauderdale campus attended the Broward County Community Involvement Awards ceremony. At the event business partners were honored for contributions to Broward students. KU was nominated by Piper High School and Deerfield Beach High School as partner of the year for their outstanding efforts in creating dual-enrollment on campus programs and offering added value by having students participate in the Leadership Distinction Program which provides them with positive life skills to complement their academic learning. These efforts were led by Community Relations Coordinators Joseph Yancey and Jacquelyn Krat who involved a team of KU administrators, faculty and staff to contribute to and fulfill the dual enrollment vision. More than 40,000 volunteers, business partners and mentors volunteer their time and resources to support students and school activities throughout the school year.
