Keiser University’s Ft. Lauderdale students will participate for their first year with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program in order to bring free tax preparation services to individuals in the community. VITA, in partnership with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), presents an amazing opportunity to engage students in applied learning while providing a tremendous service to the community. The Ft. Lauderdale campus will serve as a VITA site until April 15.

The IRS offers free tax help, through the VITA Program, to taxpayers who qualify.  Students, in the Accounting and Business programs at the Ft. Lauderdale campus of Keiser University, who wished to participate in this program were required by the IRS to pass an examination and are now certified to prepare tax returns.  A faculty member was also certified by the IRS and will always be present on site anytime the public is at the campus for tax preparation.

The Ft. Lauderdale campus is located at 1500 NW 49th Street in Ft. Lauderdale.  The campus will have tax preparation available on Saturday’s from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
