The Fort Lauderdale campus hosted the first of its May advisory board meetings and luncheons. The meetings included a gathering of over 80 community partners, students, graduates, faculty, and campus administration of the allied health and legal studies fields in an effort to ensure that the goals of the university are in alignment with community needs. The meetings consisted of a luncheon wherein four Employer of Choice awards were offered for those employers showing great contribution to the university and its students and graduates. Speakers included Dr. Michael Record of the Writing Studio, Amanda Walling of Student Services, Dana DellaCamera of Student Services, Dr. Jannette Porta-Avalos, the Dean of Academic Affairs, as well as the Campus President, Dr. Gary Vonk.
My instructors believed in me. They were more than instructors, they tried to get to know you as a person and tried to understand your goals so they could push you towards them. Student services helped me find a job before I even graduated. Everyone was dedicated to my overall success.
