Nurse Practitioner Seminar Held On Fort Myers Campus: The Fort Myers Campus recently played host to a nurse practitioner seminar sponsored by Arlene Wright of Millennium Physicians Group. Arlene Wright, DNP, ARNP, FNP-BC, is an advanced practitioner in family medicine in Fort Myers. The seminar featured speakers and was attended by over 90 nurse practitioners in the Fort Myers community.

SWFASP Holds Winter Workshop on the Fort Myers Campus: Recently the Southwest Florida Association of School Psychologists held their winter workshop on the Fort Myers Campus. Dr. Gwendolyn Singleton presented “Applying Neuropsychological Principles and Research to Assessment and Intervention in a School Setting.” Dr. Singleton is Chairperson and an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Florida A&M University (FAMU). Dr. Singleton received her Ph.D. in Neuropsychology from Howard University. In August 2011, Dr. she was elected as the Chairperson of the Department of Psychology at FAMU, becoming the first FAMU alumnus elected to this position. At FAMU, Dr. Singleton serves on a host of other university committees, as the faculty advisor and mentor for several student organizations, and in community services initiatives. It truly was an honor to host such a wonderful group of professionals.
My instructors believed in me. They were more than instructors, they tried to get to know you as a person and tried to understand your goals so they could push you towards them. Student services helped me find a job before I even graduated. Everyone was dedicated to my overall success.
