Academic Standards
Students are required to maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to continue and/or graduate from the Keiser University Master of Science in Physician Assistant program. Students are required to maintain a minimum grade of B (80%) in all courses.
Requirement for Successful Completion of the Didactic Phase
- Students must successfully complete all written, physical and combination examinations.
- Students must demonstrate skills necessary for clinical practice as determined by the Physician Assistant Program.
- Students must receive a satisfactory summative evaluation from their academic advisor by meeting all academic and professional standards.
- Students must comply with the rules, regulations, and policies of Keiser University and the Physician Assistant program.
- Students must comply with the Guidelines for Ethical Conduct for the Physician Assistant Profession established by the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) as found in the Student Academic Handbook.
- Students must maintain a professional demeanor as a physician assistant student evidenced by attendance, active participation in all classes, lectures, seminars and clinical experiences as designated by the Physician Assistant program.
- Students must satisfactorily participate in clinical competency exams (summative evaluations) either written, practical or both.
- Students must undergo and submit documentation of a complete physical examination (to File MD) prior to starting the didactic phase of the program.
- Student must complete the PACKRAT exam at the end of the didactic phase of the program.
Requirement for Successful Completion of the Clinical Phase
- Students must abide by all rules and regulations published by Keiser University Master of Science in Physician Assistant Program.
- Students must maintain a professional demeanor as a physician assistant student evidenced by attendance, active participation in all classes, lectures, seminars and clinical experiences as designated by the Physician Assistant program.
- Students must satisfactory participate in clinical competency exams (summative evaluations) either written, practical or both.
- Students must complete the PACKRAT at the end of the clinical phase of the program.
- Student must satisfactorily complete the nine clinical rotations, including end of rotation exams and end of rotation evaluations with passing grades and submit all required documentation to Keiser University Physician Assistant Program.
- Student must demonstrate required skills necessary for clinical practice and professional behaviors as determined by the Keiser University PA program.
- Students must undergo and submit documentation of a complete physical examination (to File MD) prior to starting the clinical phase of the program.
Graduation Requirements
- Satisfactorily complete all courses in the program with a grade of 80% or better.
- Earn a minimum of 138 graduate semester credit hours.
- Earn a minimum GPA of 3.0
- Satisfactorily complete all clinical rotations.
- Complete the PACKRAT in the clinical year of the program.
- Comply with Guidelines for Ethical Conduct for the Physician Assistant Profession established by the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) as found in the student academic and clinical year handbook.
- Receive a satisfactory summative evaluation from their academic advisor by meeting all academic and professional standards.
- Apply for the PANCE through NCCPA prior to graduation.
- GRE required (no minimum score) - GRE code 6257 TOEFL is required for all foreign degree applicants (score of 500 or higher on a paper-based examination, an IELTS score of 6.0 or higher, a score of 225 on a computer-based examination or an iBT of 64.)
