Eleven Histotechnology students and graduates from the Keiser University Orlando campus received the National Student Honor Award from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).  ASCP partners with Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics annually to award scholarships to medical laboratory students. The purpose of these scholarships is to help defray education costs, promote medical laboratory science as a rewarding career, and to help address the workforce shortage of qualified professionals.   ASCP honors and recognizes outstanding achievements and contributions to the laboratory community through its prestigious annual awards.  In addition, it helps promote careers in laboratory medicine by offering scholarships to students pursuing careers in pathology and laboratory medicine.  The American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is the world’s largest professional membership organization for pathologists and laboratory professionals. Its mission is to provide excellence in education, certification and advocacy on behalf of patients, pathologists and laboratory professionals across the globe. With more than 100,000 members, the society’s influence has guided the application and evolution of the pathology and laboratory medicine specialty since 1922.
