For PT month, Keiser University’s Jacksonville campus, held a Physical Therapy screening for all students and faculty. Using a variety of different assessments, the Physical Therapist Assistant students took a look at different abilities of participants focusing on balance and coordination, muscle strength and flexibility, as well as correct posture. The purpose behind this was not only to advocate for the field of Physical Therapy, but to educate the participants by explaining any limitations found and what at-home exercises they can incorporate to address those issues. Take home exercises programs (HEPs) were given out during each assessment for participants to take with them upon completion of the screening. The students had a great time and counted at least 30 participants.
