Keiser Jacksonville hosted “Girls Rock”, a group of middle school girls who attend various Duval County public schools and are learning about STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) for a day camp. The girls learned through hands on activities about Occupational Therapy, Forensic Investigation, Social Media, Drama/Writing and Microbiology with Keiser instructors and a guest teacher from a local middle school.
The first day of this two day event is designed to help young ladies understand how STEAM-related fields offer a host of opportunities and that women tend to be underrepresented in many of these robust careers.
My instructors believed in me. They were more than instructors, they tried to get to know you as a person and tried to understand your goals so they could push you towards them. Student services helped me find a job before I even graduated. Everyone was dedicated to my overall success.
