The Sports Medicine & Fitness Technology program at the Jacksonville campus had the pleasure of having  Mindy Black as a guest speaker in the Bachelor program’s Nutrition in Health & Exercise course. Mrs. Black is the head Registered Dietician (RD) for the Jacksonville Jaguars football team, as well as all of Jacksonville University’s athletic programs. Mrs. Black spoke to the students about the importance of altering your food intake when you are physically active to help support and fuel your body to perform at its highest level for sport, while also assisting in preventing and healing injuries. Similar to what is recommended throughout the course, Mrs. Black promotes a “food first” mentality by eating a whole foods diet and only using supplements as needed…even with her top athletes that can consume up to 10,000 calories a day.
