Keiser University’s Tampa campus kicked off their 2015 Legal Lecture Series with a special guest speaker, The Honorable Judge Barbara T. Thomas.  This event was also a tribute to Black History Month. The title of Judge Thomas’s lecture was, “The Local Black Trailblazers in the Law.”

The Legal Lecture Series creates another learning tool for all our students.  It also increases student interest in the legal field, and furthermore, it brings forth our positive name recognition to Keiser at the courthouse, the legal field, paralegals and the general community. During this lecture, Professor David Fernandez had the pleasure of speaking to different High School administrators and students and other interested persons who are interested in Keiser, largely due to these activities. The event was open to all Keiser University students, the community and professionals within the Legal field who are able to apply this lecture towards continuing education credits. The Lecture Series has received positive feedback and is well-attended by students, faculty and the community.  Professor David Fernandez of the Tampa campus initiated and oversees this event which is now in its second year.
