The Lakeland campus continues to broaden their community partnership opportunities each year. This year, through a partnership with the Lakeland Economic Development Company (LEDC), the Lakeland Campus sent two of their young employees to an extensive Lakeland-centered Leadership Program. Kyle Clark, Admissions Counselor, and Adrianna Smithson, Community Relations Coordinator, were chosen and sponsored for this Summer Leadership Program (SLP).

LEDC’s Summer Leadership Program (SLP) was created in 2008 following a City Visit to Memphis in 2007 and specifically, with Non-Profit, MPACT Memphis. SLP connects 18-30 year-old interns and new hires with each other and the Lakeland community through team building, leadership training, tours of Lakeland industry and community service in a 9-week Leadership Program. This cohort is the 8th one to date.

Kyle and Adrianna completed the program and took away many new leadership skills, information about Lakeland’s economic development and gained new community contacts. They would like to thank the Lakeland campus for sponsoring them and supporting their employee’s continuing education and leadership skills.
