The Lakeland campus held their Fall Student Appreciation Days recently. The days were packed with food and fun. Students were treated to hot dogs for lunch. Students also were allowed to dress down and wear their KU gear or favorite sports team apparel. Several vendors attended the event, including the Supervisor of Elections, Ylakeland.com, Commuter Service, Cuppasta, and the Health Department which provided free health screenings. The Student Government Association also had a table and promoted the KU license plates and the new KU sports teams. The campus also had a local celebrity stop by to join the festivities. Thunderbug the mascot from the defending Eastern Conference Champion Tampa Bay Lightning stopped by to party with the students.
My instructors believed in me. They were more than instructors, they tried to get to know you as a person and tried to understand your goals so they could push you towards them. Student services helped me find a job before I even graduated. Everyone was dedicated to my overall success.
