The Melbourne campus, in partnership with the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association, hosted a Regional ProStart workshop. Over 70 students, representing 14 Central Florida high schools, participated in hands-on activities at the Center for Culinary Arts. Students teams, under the supervision of KU faculty, practiced skills and made lunch for the entire group. Students had a great time learning about regional Italian food and preparing items such as fresh, pulled mozzarella; potato gnocchi; assorted bruschetta; and Budino, a velvety, butterscotch pudding with whipped cream and a salted caramel sauce.
