Nursing students from the pediatric course utilize simulation in order to practice their skills when taking care of pediatric patients.  Here they can change diapers, swaddle infants, take vital signs, feed and burp, etc.  The nursing instructors utilize different resources (chocolate frosting, colored water, etc) in order to make the simulation as real as possible.  A scenario is also presented where they have to figure out what they think is “wrong with Tommy”.  Instructor Ms. Lugo, presents a possible child abuse scenario and walks the students through the steps of communicating with child, parents, and reporting findings through the chain of command.
