For 29 years, the Giving Tree has helped to brighten the holidays for local seniors in assisted living facilities by giving them a gift they may not otherwise receive. Nearly 6,000 tags with seniors’ names on them were distributed this year to 13 Perkins locations across Southwest Florida.  NBC2 and the Fort Myers Edison Kiwanis Club will then distribute the gifts to seniors at 52 area agencies.  The Fort Myers students really got behind the Ugly Sweater Dress Down Day.  Students were even found taking selfies showing off their ugly sweaters down by the Christmas Tree.  A grand total of $90.00 was raised for this wonderful service project.
