The National Student Nurses Association (NSNA) and Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) organizations at the Ft. Lauderdale campus  joined forces to collect a variety of toiletries over a two week period for The Homeless Voice organization in Hollywood Florida.  Items included: toilet paper, toothbrushes, toothpaste, coffee cups, shampoo & conditioner, soaps and men’s clothing. The overall contributions totaled to about $400 of products that were donated. PTK President Jesse Marcus and PTK Marketing Chair Joshua Wieczorek were on hand to drop off the items on behalf of the 2 organizations. Marcus stated, “If feels good to contribute to an organization and to people that will really benefit from the donations”. Both organizations are also currently exploring opportunities to volunteer at soup kitchens on Thanksgiving Day to serve those in need. NSNA President Brianna Muriel said, “participating in service events like these really make me thankful for everything that I have and put everything in perspective”.
