The students in the Nuclear Medicine Technology program from the Lakeland campus attended a field trip to Triad Isotopes to view a working radiopharmacy. The students were able to engage with the radiopharmacists and see the daily operations of a radiopharmacy, which supplies hospitals and nuclear medicine clinics with a vital component of nuclear medicine studies. The students used their knowledge from classroom lectures and lab skills to answer questions and to formulate a more thorough understanding of radiopharmaceutical kit preparation, dose quality control, and production of radiopharmaceuticals from generators.
