Miami campus OTA students in their senior semester prepare to work with children with a variety of physical and psychosocial disabilities that they will experience while on fieldwork and in their careers. During a class presentation they role played different treatment techniques and approaches using activities and games to address deficits. Puzzles, board and computer games, arts and crafts, obstacle courses, music and dance are all used in Pediatric Occupational Therapy to facilitate children’s functional abilities.
My instructors believed in me. They were more than instructors, they tried to get to know you as a person and tried to understand your goals so they could push you towards them. Student services helped me find a job before I even graduated. Everyone was dedicated to my overall success.
