A Ft. Lauderdale pediatric OTA class had an awesome time at Ocean Therapy Center during a recent visit. The students were able to experience sensory integration with the Thera-suit, Theratogs, vibration board, vestibulator, and red cords. Sensory Integration is a treatment of choice for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. In addition the center treats clients with brain injury, vestibular disorders and other neurological conditions. Students practiced on the equipment and were able to experience the difference between facillitory and inhibitory techniques, and how to work with the whole person.
My instructors believed in me. They were more than instructors, they tried to get to know you as a person and tried to understand your goals so they could push you towards them. Student services helped me find a job before I even graduated. Everyone was dedicated to my overall success.
