Occupational Therapy Assistant students from the Ft. Lauderdale campus completed the “Aging in Place /Home Modification” project as part of the aging course in the OTA program. Community wellness is an emerging area of practice in the field of occupational therapy. Students were able to present their projects at the North East Focal Point; an inter-generational program, which offers multiple support services for the community, from elder respite care to child day care.  The event was well attended and students had the opportunity to educate the elderly population about OT services.
