Fort Lauderdale Physician Assistant (PA) students kicked off Physicians’ Assistant Week with a proclamation to the first-year PA students by the Honorable Chip Lamarca, Broward County Commissioner. Dr. Lynn Lavia, the PA Program Director, made introductory remarks and the Physicians’ Assistant Student Association (PASA) President, Rebekah Sooy, led the “Pledge of Allegiance.” The “National Anthem” followed and was sung by Meghan Nestor. A few words were spoken by Mrs. Evelyn Keiser, Co-Founder of Keiser University and Dr. Gary Vonk, Campus President. Also in attendance, Mr. Dom Montalvo, and Dr. Sara Malmstrom representing the Graduate School.
My instructors believed in me. They were more than instructors, they tried to get to know you as a person and tried to understand your goals so they could push you towards them. Student services helped me find a job before I even graduated. Everyone was dedicated to my overall success.
