Miami campus Psychology students were required to apply information about marriage and family issues learned in class to diverse cultures by presenting a case study to their peers at the end of the course. Topics ranged from domestic violence in Saudi Arabia, Trinidad parenting styles, and communication in Indian families. The students enhanced their presentations by including food, music, clothing, and artifacts specific to that group.  This activity provided students with an opportunity to learn about cultural forces that impact relationships via research, interviews, and course readings. In addition, these experiences, helped students better understand the importance of culture when working with families.
