Students in the English class at the Ft. Myers campus were divided into two teams, and took turns throwing 25 ping pong balls per team into the cups closest to the opposing team. Each time a ball made it into a cup, the cup was removed and the team earned the letter. After each team member had taken their turn, teams collaborate in timed exercises with their letters to form the longest word, the most words, the longest adjective, the shortest noun, the longest adverb, etc. The team that won the most timed exercises won the game. Activities like this assist students in increasing their vocabularies and developing teamwork and collaboration skills.

The class used the Scrabble board game distribution (nine A’s, two B’s, two C’s, etc.), but other models can also work. There were one-hundred clear cups and 100 red cups are labeled on the bottom with various letters.
