Keiser University Jacksonville Campus nursing students with their instructor Terry Hagy provided blood pressure education and screenings at Josh’s Run for PAWS held in Jacksonville Beach. Josh’s Run for Paws, a 5-kilometer run/walk benefits Paws Park dog park and memorializes Joshua Heinz, a 31-year old Jacksonville resident who was tragically killed in January 2014. One of Josh’s passions was working with animals, especially his dog Jackson, whom he rescued as a puppy from a Gainesville animal shelter. Josh went on to train Jackson to be a United States Service Animal. The two spent many hours volunteering at the Jacksonville Humane Society, as well as Paws Park, to better the lives of animals and their owners.
