Pembroke Pines:  Geoff Stam, the Director of Default Management and Financial Literacy from the Office of the Chancellor, spent a couple of hours with students at the Pembroke Pines campus discussing some of the finer points about budgeting and some information on student loans.  The topic of discussion covered how utilizing a budget for your finances can help ease some of stress of finances.  Students discussed ways to start creating a budget if they had not already; how to more effectively track expenses; find ways to potentially reduce some of the costs they incur on a weekly, monthly or annual basis.  The goal of the seminar is to build a foundation that anyone can use to help start managing their money; feel more comfortable discussing money; and potentially start creating emergency savings.
