Students from Mr. Cozzolino’s Juvenile Procedures class along with students from Ms. Schlobach’s Intro to Psychology course visited the Hillsborough County Juvenile Detention Center in Tampa.  Students toured the facility to see how juvenile detainees are housed, what types of offenses are common among juveniles, treatment and education programs available to the youths, as well as discussing employment opportunities within the DJJ.  Students had an opportunity to experience first-hand the operations of the Juvenile Detention Center.  Students asked questions about the facility, the detainees, as well as what it is like to work for the Department of Juvenile Justice while touring the facility. Several students stayed after the tour concluded to apply for open positions within the facility.
