The Flagship campus recently hosted several students from the Palm Beach County Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) as they participated in a CEO Roundtable. The event provided students from several area high schools the opportunity to gain business and leadership guidance and insight from some of the area’s best and brightest. “The activity exposes high-achieving students, CEOs and local Chamber of Commerce leaders to our campus, and introduces young entrepreneurs to the many programs we offer that can jump start their dreams,” said Michael Sawney, Flagship campus International Student Specialist who also serves as an academic advisor and instructor.

Distinguished judges included Mary Lou Bedford, CEO of the Central Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce; Laurie George, President and CEO of United Way of Palm Beach County; Tiffany Lanier, Founder of A Modern Visionary; Roger Manning, CEO of Banyan Printing and Steve Prielozny, President and CEO of Bank of Belle Glade as well as thirteen year-old Kayla Abramowitz, CKO of Kayla Cares 4 Kids and the winner of the 2015 YEA! national competition.

Locally sponsored by the Central Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce, YEA! is a national after school program offering classes that transform middle and high school students into confident CEO entrepreneurs. Throughout the program, students develop business ideas, write business plans, conduct market research, pitch their plans to a panel of investors, and actually launch and run their own real, legal, fully formed companies and social movements. Complete with dynamic guest speakers from the local business community and exciting behind-the-scenes trips to local companies, the fun, projects-based YEA! approach empowers students to take charge of their futures in a profound way.
