Bronwyn Stanford, Regional Managing Director and Juana Leon, Southern Region Planner of the Florida Department of Children and Families, Southern (Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties) Region visited with administrators, faculty, and students at the KU Fort Lauderdale campus.   The day started with a presentation to 40 students and 7 faculty members discussing the details of the Child Abuse Investigator positions available within the agency.  Ms. Stanford and Mrs. Leon gave students of the Criminal Justice, Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, Forensic Investigations, and Crime Scene Technology Programs intimate details about the position and the application process.  Finally, the guests were able to meet with campus administration, and faculty to discuss a future partnership.  Topics included career placement services/referral of candidates, contract training, internship opportunities, and both ladies agreed to accept an invitation to join Ft. Lauderdale’s Advisory Board.  The department provides social services to children, adults, refugees, domestic violence victims, human trafficking victims, the homeless community, child care providers, disabled people, elderly in Florida.
