Keiser University Fort Lauderdale recently partnered with Patriot Placements to host a veteran’s job fair on campus. The event was opened to Keiser University students and alumni and members of the community.
More than 35 employers and veteran resource organizations attended the event which was developed to allow armed service veterans an opportunity to network directly with potential employers and resource organizations that focus on veteran job placement. Local employers included Seminole Casino of Coconut Creek, RMK Merrill-Stevens, Embassy Suites, FedEx, the Hallandale Police Department, and many more.
Fort Lauderdale Vice Mayor Ben Sorensen and Broward County Property Appraiser Marty Kiar attended the event and thanked veteran attendees for their service. Sorensen, a member of the U.S Navy Reserves and a founding member of Mission United, discussed ways in which the city of Fort Lauderdale is making a concerted effort to improve veterans’ resources.
“Collaborative partnerships build a great community, especially those that serve our veterans,” said KU Fort Lauderdale Director of Student Services Violet Lowrey. “Partnering with Patriot Placements provides opportunities for our veteran students and expands our reach to those partners that Patriot Placements has a working relationship with. In working together, this allows both our originations to serve more veterans. It is a win/win.”
Based in Fort Lauderdale, Patriot Placements is an organization committed to serving the military community by working with the business community to promote job placement and economic independence to our nation’s heroes and their spouses.
