Leaders from Keiser University’s Port St. Lucie campus recently joined the Treasure Coast Food Bank (TCFB) to support area friends and neighbors by serving as a drive-thru distribution center.

Led by Keiser University Student Veterans Association (SVA) Advisor and Information Technology Program Director Dewan Persaud, the effort benefited over 200 community members. “As yesterday’s warriors, today’s scholars and tomorrow’s leaders, this was a great opportunity for our student veterans to serve,” said Persaud. “We are grateful to the TCFB for the opportunity, as our goal is to empower our student veterans so they can continue to support themselves and our local community,” added  Persaud, who served ten years in the United States Air Force.

Treasure Coast Food Bank client service agencies span four counties and distribute perishable and non-perishable food items, and other essentials to children, families, seniors, and individuals in need.

Keiser University is proud to offer scholarships to qualified Active Duty personnel, Veterans, and military dependents. To learn more about the many resources available to veterans, please visit this link.
