Keiser University Pembroke Pines campus Occupational Therapy Assistant program students recently had the opportunity to learn about the benefits of hippotherapy, a form of physical, occupational and speech treatment in which a therapist uses the characteristic movements of a horse to provide carefully graded motor and sensory input.
The visit to Bit by Bit Medical Therapeutic Riding Center provided the group with the opportunity to interact with the horses while observing how they can serve as therapeutic sources to increase posture, balance, muscle tone and other skills.
