Keiser University’s Lakeland Campus was honored to attend and participate in The Veteran’s Outreach event at The American Legion Post #4 in Lakeland, FL. The event was sponsored by Clark’s House and since their inception in 2008, Clark’s House has provided basic needs to homeless veterans, “at risk” veterans and their families within the Polk County, Florida community. Their programs are geared to provide a “hand up and not a hand out” to veterans and their families. Executive Director, Cynthia Clark (pictured below), visited the Keiser table and was enthusiastic about our participation.

Community Relations Coordinator, Adrianna Smithson (pictured below), and various members of the Student Veteran’s Association (SVA) volunteered at the event. Keiser was the only University invited to attend and was accompanied by a number of community organizations and businesses. Participants from Keiser’s SVA included Shannon Vance and wife Marisol Vance, Wayne Hawley and Gloria Kotska (pictured below). Many thanks to Cassi Oggero, VA Certifying Official FA Officer, for coordinating participation and volunteers for this event.
