The Fort Myers campus hosted a special visitor in the Occupational Therapy Class. Ruth Smith, mother of instructor Therese Cinotto, is currently recovering from an accident that smashed her pelvis and destroyed her humerus. Students were able to interview, discuss and demonstrate her, “real life” experiences with rehabilitation. Some student even had an opportunity to touch, feel and practice on her. Once again real world practical knowledge in the classroom. OTA Students really gained a lot of good information by the special visit.
My instructors believed in me. They were more than instructors, they tried to get to know you as a person and tried to understand your goals so they could push you towards them. Student services helped me find a job before I even graduated. Everyone was dedicated to my overall success.
