Mrs. Keiser was asked by Governor Scott to host the Internship Panel at the Degrees to Jobs Summit. The purpose of the panel was to talk about the importance of internships and to highlight three examples of companies that are leading the way when it comes to working with colleges and universities to facilitate a student’s path from degrees to internships to careers. Aside from Mrs. Keiser the other panelists were Jeff Lackey, Vice President of Talent Acquisition at CVS, Gregg Morton, President of Citi Tampa, and Kathleen Miller, Senior Director of Talent Acquisition at Florida Blue. The insights the participants of this event walked away with were a first-hand account of how large corporate organizations tailor internship programs to local students; ideas on how companies can benefit from a collaborative approach to internships or apprenticeships for prospective employees; and the knowledge that by implementing a strong internship program, hiring practices will be made easier.
