Dear prospective student:

Welcome to the Community Relations and Student Advancement department of Keiser University.� Our purpose is to assist our students as they pursue their educational and career goals, to be a resource for employers as they seek qualified graduates to fulfill their hiring needs and to be of service within our communities.

In 1977 we recognized the demand for a career educational institution that would serve the needs of career-focused students and Florida's growing business and healthcare communities.� That year, we started the Keiser School with just one student, two classrooms and commitments to prepare graduates for professional careers and meet workforce and employer needs, and a belief that community service is a responsibility.

Today, over 35 years later, you will find that our commitment remains the same as it did then and our�values�of service, leadership development, collaboration, excellence, and integrity�drive our efforts and determine our priorities.

Leadership development is a critical element of a student's education and a necessary attribute for gaining a professional career. �At Keiser University, students have many�opportunities to contribute and lead in their chosen�major and profession.� We encourage all students to engage in student organizations such as the Student Government Association, honor societies and clubs specific to their major.�

Additionally, students, faculty, and staff volunteer hundreds of hours to charitable causes, raising money and donating their respective talents benefiting those in need. �Last year, charitable giving and volunteer service hours through institution driven fundraisers across Florida amounted to over $1.5 million.� Recipients included the American Cancer Society, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the March of Dimes and many, many more deserving organizations.

At Keiser University our students are achieving excellence because of our commitment to student learning outcomes.� Most of the majors at Keiser University require an internship, externship or clinical rotations which provide students valuable hands-on learning in a professional setting.� Keiser University also knows the importance of soft skills and we address this through a required attendance policy and professional attire policy. The Keiser University writing center is also available for students to advance their writing and communication skills.

Employers have come to expect that our students will be well prepared for their chosen career field as a result of the practical training, focus on professionalism and the solid academic foundation they have learned.� As a result, Keiser University is proud to be recognized with high placement rates and graduation rates.

Collaborative partnerships with employers are an essential part of our mission.� Employers contribute to our student's education in�many significant areas.� Our employers�drive many of the changes�to�our curriculum�providing guidance and recommendations which ensure that our curriculum is "state of the practice" thus preparing our students to compete and lead in their chosen fields. �Keiser University provides convenient on-site degree programs for major employers, customizing our programs to address the employers' needs allowing them to retain and advance their valued employees.
