Keiser University Seahawk Spirit Squad members are gaining additional insights into team-building, the enhancement of personal development, communication skills, choreography, and more, thanks to Coach Laura Pucker’s participation in pageantry.

Recently crowned Ms. Sunshine State 2021 at the Royal International Miss pageant held in Delray Beach, Florida, Pucker shared that in addition to dance moves, she loves helping to instill the qualities she’s gained as a pageant contestant to team members. “Our students tell me that the experiences I’ve shared help them to envision their dreams despite life’s obstacles, and I’m thankful that they’ve gained further appreciation for community service and the importance of supporting each other and being prepared for a variety of professional, academic, and athletic events,” she said.

Prior to joining Keiser University in 2017, Pucker’s experience includes a stint as the Champlin Park High School Head Competition Cheer Coach where she was in charge of providing management of the team along with raising funds, public relations, and organizing the booster club. The Minnesota native was also the head cheerleading coach for Eden Prairie Competition Cheerleading/Planet Spirit for eight years in which she led the team to state titles all eight seasons in addition to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes at the national level.

Having founded World’s Perfect Athlete, an organization designed to assist cheerleaders, dancers, gymnasts, baton twirlers, martial artists, and archers in 2012, Pucker manages tournaments that showcase and reward young men and women who embody the true meaning of athleticism.
