College of Golf & Sport Management Executive Director of Golf Operations Dr. Eric Wilson, PGA Legacy Master Professional; Program Director Brian Hughes, PGA Master Professional; and Faculty Member David Wixson, PGA Master Professional; attended the PGA of America Master Professional Seminar held on Friday in conjunction with the PGA Merchandise Show. Dr. Paul Schempp, professional speaker, coach, and consultant on expertise, gave a presentation on “Leaderships Characteristics of Great Coaches” to the 100+ attendees at the seminar.

The PGA Master Professional Program was established in 1969 to recognize PGA members who make a significant effort to improve themselves as golf professionals and maintain the highest degree of excellence for themselves and their operations. To date, only 357 PGA professionals have attained the Master Professional designation, and only 204 in the field of Teaching and Coaching, out of 28,000 PGA Members and Apprentices. The College of Golf & Sport Management is proud to have three of the 204 PGA Master Professionals in teaching and coaching on staff, teaching and mentoring students.
