Two staff members from the Lakeland campus,  Tina Jenkins and Darrian Crumbley participated in the inaugural “Emerging Race” sponsored by Emerge Lakeland Young Professionals organization.  The premise of the event mimicked the TV show AMAZING RACE and consisted of 10 teams with 6 clues/tasks taking them throughout downtown Lakeland. Each of the 6 locations in downtown Lakeland prepared a challenge for the teams to complete.  Challenges included using baking soda and vinegar to fill a balloon at Explorations V Children’s Museum, finding three swan statues to take “selfies” with, and of course a coke cake eating challenge at Mitchell’s Coffee House.   While team Keiser began in the lead, a tricky clue led them astray.
