Rob Bannon, is applying skills learned as a United States Army Special Operations Aviator along with his educational experiences to excel professionally. The 2019 Keiser University College of Golf (KUCOG) graduate recently opened the TPG Golf Performance Center in Saint Johns, Florida to bring the new age of golf instruction to players of all skill levels.

By combining the performance mindset he’d developed in the military with the golf teaching and coaching skills learned at Keiser University, Bannon has come a long way in a short time, as he successfully coaches a wide variety of players including NCAA All-Americans, touring professionals, high-level junior golfers, and more.

“From the technical teaching and golf industry business knowledge gained while at Keiser to the body movement pattern knowledge learned from studying Kinesiology at Saint Leo College, I am utilizing a diverse skill set to develop performance training techniques that can help players reach their goals,” he said. “I am very grateful for the outstanding training provided by the instructors at the College of Golf, especially Brad Turner.  Brad is an exceptionally talented PGA professional and teacher and his mentorship, while I was in the program, provided me a solid foundation to open my performance center. The opportunity to use my Post 9-11 GI Bill benefits at Keiser was a great fit. I am thankful for all of the programs that continue to provide benefits and support to Veterans after they leave the military,” he said.

Founded by Bannon in 2016, TPG GOLF is focused on building player confidence and trust while on the course through performance-oriented training designed to give competitors the tools to access their skills.  In 2020, Bannon signed a long term agreement with Cimarrone Golf Club to build the TPG Golf Performance Center on the practice grounds at the club to fully integrate player development programs and instruction at one location. The state of the art center features two instruction bays with multiple HDTV screens, down-the-line, overhead and face-on camera angles, real-time video analysis, FlightScope 3D launch monitor analysis, and pressure shift analysis technology.  TPG Golf is also an authorized Mizuno club-fitter utilizing the second-generation digital shaft optimizer and over 100 shaft combinations on-site to provide players with the most comprehensive club fitting experience in the area.

The mission of the KUCOG is to educate the future leaders of golf by providing a well-rounded golf education. With faculty comprised of PGA Master and Certified Professionals, students have the opportunity to earn associate and bachelor of science degrees in Golf Management.
