Microeconomics 
Topics include basic economic principles, supply and demand, market equilibrium, elasticity of demand 
and supply and applications, analysis of government policies, externalities, public goods, production 
costs, comparative advantage, trade policies, characteristics of competitive, monopoly, monopolistic 
and oligopoly markets. It provides economic thinking, critical thinking, including application, analysis, 
making predictions, drawing inferences, cause and effect relationships, comparing and contrasting, 
evaluation, and synthesis, especially its impact on business functions and strategic management. 
Interdisciplinary thinking to support business functions such as marketing, strategic management. It 
analyzes the impact of organization’s decisions on society, ethics, social responsibility, to help students 
become well-rounded individuals and responsible citizens. 

 

ECO2013 (3.0 Credit Hours) 
Macroeconomics 

Topics include basic economic principles, supply and demand, national income, components of GDP, 
economic cycles, product, labor, financial and foreign exchange markets, inflation, unemployment, 
theories of money, fixed and floating exchange, open economy, trade balance, aggregate demand and 
aggregate supply model, the role of government, monetary and fiscal policies, Phillips Curve. It provides 
economic thinking, critical thinking, analysis, evaluation, problem solving, decision making, especially its 
impact on policy decisions. Interdisciplinary thinking to support other disciplines. It analyzes the impact 


of organization’s decisions on society, ethics, social responsibility, to help students become well-
rounded individuals and responsible citizens.

Pediatric Occupational Therapy 

Presents specific issues in the practice of pediatric occupational therapy. Under the supervision of a 
licensed occupational therapist, students learn to assess specific needs regarding performance of self-
care and play/leisure activities, with emphasis on a school environment. In order to achieve treatment 
goals in this specialty area, common pediatric disorders, their etiology, prognoses, and appropriate 
occupational therapy treatment/interventions are explored, stressing the incorporation of activity 
analysis, gradation, and use of assistive technologies and adaptation of task/environment within a 
child’s family setting. Prerequisite: OTH2420
